I've been meaning to take a look at the ruined Griffe Mill, in the Worth Valley below Stanbury, since I spotted it on a Top Withens walk ages ago.
A bit of a false start. I headed into the village to find the footpath down to Griffe Mill. This is the old smithy |
This snicket (or is it a gunnel) joins Main Street with a track that runs parallel to it behind the buildings |

Cold Knoll Farm and, despite appearances, it certainly was today |

A dusting of snow - Oldfield House Farm |
The old road down to Griffe Mill is barely visible now |
Large round structure (I'm not sure what exactly) relating to Griffe Mill |
Griffe Mill is pretty well hidden by the trees, even before the leaves appear |
It seems that, despite it being a public footpath, the landowner is less than keen to allow access. In a way, I can understand it because the building is clearly unsafe. |
